Internship Summary:

The intern will provide support to the Director of Volunteer Management & Development, and Director of Programs in the form of administrative support, event assistance, program research, media list building, writing press materials and crafting pitches, social media management, and more. The intern will also assist the Case Supervisor with the recruitment, screening, training, and supervision of all volunteers as needed. 

Internship Requirements:

  • Fingerprinting and Background Checks
  • Attending weekly supervision with Supervisor
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with basic computer skills
  • High organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team so that the needed duties can be effectively carried out.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent people skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism

Qualifications and Skills:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a passion for advocacy and social justice, or an interest in non-profit organizational management. This is a 10-25 hours per week commitment working out of our office in Toms River, NJ. This internship is unpaid; however, college-credit is eligible for the intern’s efforts. This internship is open to Undergraduate Juniors and Seniors, and Graduate students. The intern’s course of study should focus on the following: Social Services, Liberal Arts, Non-Profit Management, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
